WMS Pajama Party

August 30th, 2013 · 10 Comments

I missed the first Pajama Party by Waltzingmouse Stamps, but I got my jammies on now! Click on each photo to see a larger image.
Tie a Knot in It
For the first challenge, I made a 3″ x 6″ silver wedding card using the Tie the Knot stamp set. I silver embossed all the images as well as the sentiment, which makes for a very shiny card IRL.

Get Nauty Challenge
I combined the Get Nauty and Color Inspiration challenges on my second card. I also used this week’s sketch challenge on splitcoaststampers.com (SC451) to get me started.

Golden Oldies

My last card uses the very first stamp set I ever bought from Waltzingmouse Stamps back in 2010: Very Vintage Labels No. 1. The Spellbinders-compatible stamp sets are what first attracted me to WMS, but now I love them all! The colors of this card (Night of Navy, Cajun Craze, and Soft Sky) are from this week’s color challenge on SCS (CC441).

I {heart} You

I {heart} You
I saved this card, which I made during Dare to Get Dirty week on SCS, to give to my DH on his birthday. After trying the Belleek Inspired technique to create the Lacy Brocade background, I wasn’t too happy with the result. So, I flipped over the embossed card stock and ran my brayer directly onto the paper, then used this side (which I liked much better!) on my card.

Vintage Sunflowers

Vintage Sunflowers
Today is Mother’s Day in Antwerp, Belgium, and I did manage to mail this card to my mother in time. In fact, she received it two days early! I also had a matching bouquet of (real) sunflowers delivered to her door. It certainly helped that I had a card ready to send thanks to the Dare to Get Dirty challenges on splitcoaststampers.com last week!

Circle Card

August 14th, 2013 · 4 Comments

Circle Card
This card was inspired by Kristina Werner’s Thank You card on Week 2 Day 1 of Summer Card Camp 2. I loved the way the vellum banner looked on top of the embossed watercolor paper panel. The background images were white embossed first, then the paper was pressed down into the green inks on a craft sheet.

Sentiment Piecing

Sentiment Piecing
Kelly Rasmussen was a guest teacher in Summer Card Camp 2 and showed us how to piece together sentiments to create an eye-catching card. It takes a bit of patience, but I really like the result! It makes for a nice flat card that’s easy to mail, too.
