Here’s my attempt to apply the Retro Style (as seen on pages 10-11 of the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog) to the Polka Dot Punches Sale-A-Bration set. I combined the Bashful Blue pattern from the Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper with the following colors: Pacific Point, Only Orange, and Chocolate Chip.
I started the color blocking with a 1-1/4″ Only Orange square that was punched once with the ticket corner punch. I glued it down onto a 5-1/4″ x 4″ Pacific Point panel with piercing along its edges. The DSP panels measure 2-1/8″ x 1-1/4″ and 3-3/8″ x 1-1/4″ and the large orange panel measures 3-3/8″ x 2-1/8″. I stamped the birthday sentiment with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white powder.
The flower was stamped with Pacific Point ink on Whisper White card stock and punched out with the 1-1/4″ circle punch. The heart of the flower is actually part of the five-petal flower image in the same SAB set, and was inked up with the VersaMarker and white embossed on Only Orange card stock.
Thanks for stopping by!
