It’s been a while since I’ve done any soot stamping, and I thought this train image would be great for this technique. Never mind that I set the first piece of card stock I used on fire (really be careful with those edges!). Perhaps I should have read that warning in step 1 of SCS’s Soot Stamping tutorial before I started. The second piece of card stock I used was much larger than I needed (so that I could keep the flame away from the edges). I just tore it to size after the acrylic sealer had dried.
I decided to also combine the sketch (SC192) and color combination (CC182) challenges of the past week on this card. That’s why I used Kraft card stock and Kraft Patterns Designer Series Paper together with Basic Black (for the monochromatic look). With the help of my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I created a background with the Happiness is a Journey not a Destination sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by!

A stunning card! I read the article on soot stamping and it mentioned several ways to do this. Was there anything on your stamp or did you just stamp on top of the soot with a dry stamp? If you have a spare moment would you please let me know? FABULOUS CARD.
